Well, well, what a weekend this old girl has had!
We went to the printers to get the giclee prints made of "The Dirty Dozen Brass Band" and I was so excited I decided to take a photo or two. Wow, going into self-publishing is so much more involved than I thought it would be...no complaints, but it is a lot of work. What you are seeing here is the result of working directly with the printer;this was AFTER tweaking and re-tweaking the scan which he already tweaked into his computer. We had to go back a few times to get the colours right. Even still, the prints were not exactly like the painting but pdc (pretty damned close) so all of us were happy in the end. Now it's back to the shop, Neil is my marketing man so he will take over the rest of it for me. The shop people have to approve of the margins on the prints (or give us an idea of how large they want them). Then it's back to the printers, pick up the new prints, back to the shop, sign the prints, write up and print out an artist's statement, choose a mount/frame that will set the print off to an excellent standard, make sure it is up on the wall to sell, take photos of the print on the wall so I can post it in Facebook to advertise, and....whew! Like I said, lots of work is involved in self-publishing! But hopefully all will turn out well and everyone concerned will be happy with the results. :-)
