Thanks to a friend of mine, I discovered a lot of amazing fellow artists are hooked up with Facebook. I got up my courage and asked about half a dozen of them to befriend me there, and not only did they all oblige, but a couple of them actually wrote back to me. Artists are very special people! I am also going to have the privilege to meet one or two of them in May when I go to an exhibit in Birmingham. I will try to not act like a middle-aged groupie when this happens (rather a disgusting thought, lol) and just bask in the glory of being surrounded by artists, famous or not.

Well, today was a day full of ideas bursting into my head. Most days are like that, actually. I am now thinking about my biggest project to date, which is entering the BP award in 2012. I have kind of looked into it before but when I saw some fellow artists entering I thought, well, why not? I certainly don't have anything to lose. So the ideas about what I am going to paint are running rampant in my wee brain. It's exciting, scary, and necessary for me to make personal and psychological progress.
Hello, this is my first blog EVER. So what do I write? Hmmm.
I have been working diligently on my next painting, a real cracker. It is yet another highly detailed piece; imagine painting hundreds of tiny bricks, one by one and that should give you an idea. I love it as it presents an amazing challenge. The thing is, I love the fact that I can spend endless hours trying to achieve something not only new but even more difficult than the last painting.
